Joan has been a resident of Milsons Point for over 20 years where she continues to be very active in a number of high profile community projects. She is an active member of Lavender Bay Precinct where she has served as Precinct chair and executive secretary for a number of years.
As a Milsons Point local she helped lead the resident action against noise pollution issues at Luna Park and is now working to protect Luna Park as a traditional theme park. Joan has more recently been one of the leaders behind the negotiations with State Government to establish the Waverton to Lavender Bay Highline walking trail.
A volunteer gardener in Wendy’s Secret Garden, Joan will work on Council to have Wendy’s Garden made a permanent park and to complete Harry’s Park. She believes North Sydney needs Councillors who will represent the community; are visionary and have the courage to implement an inclusive vision for North Sydney to deliver positive social and environmental outcomes for residents, businesses and visitors.
